Google plans Orwellian ‘ministry of truth’
Google is setting out to create a ‘ministry of truth’ to rank the internet not by popularity but based only on what it deems to be factual, which would essentially suppress alternative news sites countering official versions of stories.
An article in the New Scientist reveals how Google has published a paper showing that it aims to create a formula which will weed out non-factual stories in favor of those which are ‘proven’ to be verifiably fact-based.
It sounds innocent, doesn’t it? Who wouldn’t want a search engine which gets rid of the junk and only shows what is fact, but just who is deciding what is true and what is not?
The New Scientist article reveals its bias nature from the offset and tells us all we need to know about the type of things which are likely to be censored.
“The internet is stuffed with garbage. Anti-vaccination websites make the front page of Google, and fact-free “news” stories spread like wildfire. Google has devised a fix – rank websites according to their truthfulness”.
So there you have it, any counter argument against vaccinations, be it scientifically based or not, is instantly branded ‘fact-free garbage’ whereas, let’s say, the encouragement of pumping harmful substances into babies will rank highly under Google’s new scheme.
The article continues: “A Google research team is adapting that model to measure the trustworthiness of a page, rather than its reputation across the web. Instead of counting incoming links, the system – which is not yet live – counts the number of incorrect facts within a page. “A source that has few false facts is considered to be trustworthy,” says the team.”
“The software works by tapping into the Knowledge Vault, the vast store of facts that Google has pulled off the internet. Facts the web unanimously agrees on are considered a reasonable proxy for truth. Web pages that contain contradictory information are bumped down the rankings.”
As Jon Rappoport writes in his blog regarding the subject, “Google, along with its friends at the CIA, will engineer a new and improved, greater flood of (dis)information across the Web. And this disinfo will constitute an overwhelming majority opinion… and will become the standard for measuring truth and trustworthiness.”
Under such a scheme, any counter-argument against GMOs would be suppressed, after all, the official story is that they are completely fine and have no direct links with diseases. The same would apply to any 9/11 truth website, which despite many of the points agreed upon by thousands of professionals with scientific proof, would not rank as the ‘official’ version denies any wrongdoing.
The US government’s involvement in funding terrorists? Secrets of the Federal Reserve? Torture programs? After Google launches its ‘ministry of truth’, all of this will just be swept aside and deemed as non-factual nonsense.
